1. Are you a frequent mover, or do you prefer to stay put?

I've just moved into my own palce for the first time this year - we had only moved once in my life before that. Until recently I've had said that I tend to stay put in one place but I've fierce itchy feet lately. Mad to get out and move around see lots of things. Smiley

2. If given the choice, which would you prefer: big house and long commute, or small house and short commute?

I've had both - I prefer the short commute.

3. Do you prefer to do your own repairs and decorating, or hire a professional?

Hire if I can afford.

4. Do you prefer a big open living area, or a cozy space?

Cozy and comfy.

5. What features are important to you in a home (state-of-the-art kitchen, fireplace, screened-in porch, etc.)?

Roomy kitchen, comfy couch, spacious ventilated bathroom, spacious bedroom with good storage.

1. Are you a frequent mover, or do you prefer to stay put?
I'm kind of a frequent mover. Circumstances keep changing over the past few years necessitating the moves.
2. If given the choice, which would you prefer: big house and long commute, or small house and short commute?
I've done both and I definitely prefer the shorter commute. It's nice to feel the distance between you and your job but commuting really wears me down and eliminating the limitations of suburban public transport timetabling is pretty sweet.
3. Do you prefer to do your own repairs and decorating, or hire a professional?
Prefer to do my own because I like doing manual things [insert totally warranted quip here  Wink] but for more complicated or specialised tasks such as wiring, I'd prefer to get a professional.
4. Do you prefer a big open living area, or a cozy space?
Hmm, depends. "Cozy" spaces can get pretty cramped when living with others. I also like bright spaces with lots of light so I think an open space would be my preference
5. What features are important to you in a home (state-of-the-art kitchen, fireplace, screened-in porch, etc.)?
Decent shower, fridge, hob and oven. Good park or quiet space like that nearby. Pleasant view from bedroom (with privacy assured - I've had some experiences of oversharing with the neighbours) and/or kitchen window

I move a fair amount. I have been 'static' for going on 6 months now, so that's a good sign.

2. If given the choice, which would you prefer: big house and long commute, or small house and short commute?
Oh, I want a big house. With a garden! Who cares about the commute? I'm going to be a work from home millionaire

3. Do you prefer to do your own repairs and decorating, or hire a professional?
I would never hire anyone else to do something I could do myself. And I like doing it. It makes it that much more MINE

4. Do you prefer a big open living area, or a cozy space?
A cosy space, with a big kitchen. And a big library.

5. What features are important to you in a home (state-of-the-art kitchen, fireplace, screened-in porch, etc.)?
It has to have loads of shelf space for all the books, and a comfy bed. And natural light in the bathroom is a MUST. (the big kitchen and garden will come later...).

1. Are you a frequent mover, or do you prefer to stay put?
God, frequent mover..due to years of training and then getting the job I wanted, but in a different city.

2. If given the choice, which would you prefer: big house and long commute, or small house and short commute?

It would have to be a very special house/space for long commute.....hmmm for me, whichever gave me a good quality of life-I suppose small house and short commute.

3. Do you prefer to do your own repairs and decorating, or hire a professional?

Do-it-meself

4. Do you prefer a big open living area, or a cozy space?

Cozy space

5. What features are important to you in a home (state-of-the-art kitchen, fireplace, screened-in porch, etc.)?

I love snazzy kitchens......but essentially nice sofa/living area with a fire would be the preference

1. Are you a frequent mover, or do you prefer to stay put?

No. I've lived in only two places since I moved out of home ten years ago.

2. If given the choice, which would you prefer: big house and long commute, or small house and short commute?
Small and short. I have a happy medium at the moment- my apartment is bigger than anyone I know who lives in town, and the commute is a 25 minute bus journey at rush hour. Plus it's all mine  Smiley

3. Do you prefer to do your own repairs and decorating, or hire a professional?

Professional.

4. Do you prefer a big open living area, or a cozy space?

Open.

5. What features are important to you in a home (state-of-the-art kitchen, fireplace, screened-in porch, etc.)?

None of those. Just so long as its comfortable, looks well, is uncluttered and is lived in my good people.

1. Are you a frequent mover, or do you prefer to stay put?
11 times in the last 8 years

2. If given the choice, which would you prefer: big house and long commute, or small house and short commute?
At the moment small with short commute but eventually big house in a quiet area with a little bit of land

3. Do you prefer to do your own repairs and decorating, or hire a professional?
I like to ddo some things, if I haven't done it before but stuff like painting etc which I find incredibly boring I would prefer to get someone to do

4. Do you prefer a big open living area, or a cozy space?
I like open. My ideal city dwelling would be an open plan loft style apartment

5. What features are important to you in a home (state-of-the-art kitchen, fireplace, screened-in porch, etc.)?
I think nice kitchen and bathroom. After that all you really need is standard rooms as it depends how you decorate them
